We were very disappointed on our last visit to Whindley that we missed the opening of the beautiful new Museum. It is just down the hill from the house and looks magnificent.
We were leaving on the day it opened and, having a train to catch in Inverness, we didn't have the time to see Princess Anne open it, or go down and be some of the first visitors that afternoon to see the inside.
Next time we are in Gairloch, it will be our first outing - have a look for yourself:
